HISTORY
& DESCRIPTIVE OF POLARITY THERAPY
Polarity is a healing art based on ancient understandings of the
movement of energy in the human body. It bases its understandings
in the three basic laws of energy (quantum physics).
1. Everything is made of energy.
2. Energy has to move.
3. Energy is never lost, it is simply transformed.
The practice of polarity therapy addresses all patterns of the
energetic being: The mind, emotions and physical body as they
align with the spirit. It is a basic precept of the art of polarity
that an organism can only function in a state of ease when all
the bodies are aligned.
Polarity therapy was developed by Dr. Randolph
Stone, (1890-1981) an osteopath and naturopath
of his day, who spent his life striving to combine the
ancient Hermetic understandings of medicine and
Eastern medicine with western ideas. The art of
polarity includes techniques we recognize by the
names of reflexology, acupuncture, Aryuveda, yoga
& craniosacral balancing. However, it is a body of
work that defies the descriptive of these practices.
Its simple approach being the energetic balancing
principle described above.
At the Yoga & Polarity Center, we dedicate our work to the
concepts of yoga as it defines Polarity: the belief that the alignment
of the bodies: spiritual, mental, emotional & physical, lead
to a wellness of
being and a joyousness of life. Our purpose is to provide a safe,
clean space for learning and seeking truth, for all people.
So, if you are a teacher, bodyworker, psychologist, social worker,
physical therapist, minister, priest, doctor or any worker in
the helping professions, this work will enhance your practice.
If you are a seeker of truth, this work will enhance your findings.
Finally, if you are simply a person who knows, deeply, that there
is a better way, this is the study for you.
We look forward to holding space for you in your sacred journey.
