Brittany Consigli, RYT200
Brittany completed her 200 hour teacher training at the Yoga and Polarity Center in Malverne, NY. She is also a licensed speech-language pathologist who has experience working patients and students from all stages of life. She found her way to yoga after many years of being disconnected from her body because of the “physical limitations” of Marfan Syndrome. Yoga not only opened the door to physical strength and flexibility but it created a deep and healing relationship between her mind, body, and spirit. She has learned that “limitations” are the stuff of the mind and that if you quiet those thoughts and honor your body in all moments of your practice, both on and off the mat, you will be so amazed by your own personal journey! Because of her personal experience modifying postures in her own physical practice, under the guidance of her teacher Fran White, Brittany’s classes have a foundation of Hatha Yoga with a focus on Iyengar Style use of props and attention to proper alignment. Her classes are great for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. She is a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner of yoga and hopes to bring all she learns to her students.

Elizabeth Ferrara, E-RYT500, RPE, BCPP
Lizzie’s personal journey has led her through both the yoga (at the 200 hour level and the 500 hour level) and polarity programs (Registered Polarity Practitioner). Lizzie’s intention to provide a safe environment for a wide range of student to experience Restorative/Gentle Yoga, Deep Relaxation and highly intentioned Polarity Education comes to fruition at the Yoga & Polarity Center. This class is designed to allow ones’ body to (perhaps once again) feel safe in movement and in rest. Gentle, restorative yoga serves many masters: the novice who is concerned about flexibility and stamina will be able to coax new movement and gain new connection; the sometime yogi will value the slow, gentle stretching and connection to breath that will entice them to be more present in their practice; and the serious yogi will enjoy the reminder that yoga is about union and honoring the Self.
It is essential for the follower of the yoga journey to understand the need for integration and balance… BKS Iyengar

Sue Velella comes to us from the Oceanside community where she has taught Barre and Pilates for over 20 years. Sue began her career in fitness when she was a young teenager in Queens where she came under the sharp eye of Lucille Roberts, the health club innovator. Lucille recognized Sue’s gifts as a “natural teacher” and soon had Sue not only instructing classes, but managing clubs, and eventually training other instructors and managers in health clubs across L.I. and the 5 boroughs. A master’s in education soon followed as Sue sought to expand her teaching skills. She has simultaneously educated youngsters as the lead first grade teacher in her district while pursuing her early passion for fitness by instructing Barre and Pilates and now Yoga to children and adults.
Sue seeks to make her classes accessible to all levels of fitness. Her classes are well-rounded, balanced, efficient and fun. Her training in Barre, Pilates and Yoga keeps her alert to cuing alignment and form to help each member of her eclectic classes to achieve their personal best.
Currently, Sue is bringing Yoga-Barre to our studios. You will develop stamina and strength both at the Barre and on the mat. Light free weights , Pilates balls and yoga props help each client sculpt muscle and deepen their practice while having fun.
